EN4CER-100 provides a braking application using a SIL-4 safety computer to enforce a customer’s business rules to protect a train. It can apply a train’s brakes if its driver does not respond appropriately in an out-of-authority situation, for example, a service brake for overspeed, or an emergency brake for a Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD).
EN4CER can brake the train in the case of:
Exceeding the calculated brake curve
A rollaway event
Overspeed within a shunt yard
Overspeed when reversing
Overspeed on the mainline
Signal Passed at Danger (SPAD)
